I have a computer that runs minecraft fairly enough, but lags alot. It gets about 15-60 fps, but mostly around 20. This computer make minecraft lag too much, and I was wondering if I can change one of the parts from my computer to a better part. My goal is to hit atleast 100 fps not crappy 20 fps
Here are the specs:
Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
Model: OptiPlex 330
Processor(CPU): Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2160 @1.80GHz 1.79GHz
RAM: 2 GB
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x84 (or 32 bit)
Graphics Card(GPU): Intel G33/G31 Express Chipset Family
Disk Drive: SAMSUNG HD161HJ ATA Device
Capacity: 148 GB(It's roughly 3/4 filled)
I probably know I can improve on the RAM, but are there any more suggestions?
Technically, some people can see a difference between 60 and 120 if they have the monitor to support it.
I have a 60hz monitor and therefore can not see the difference, but I am sure I would be able to see the difference easily if it was 120hz.
You could try to wait for one of the next updates. Mojang is going to go all source-like and make everything server sided, allowing even toasters to play.
Get a hd7750 graphics card, may double your performance maybe? If you have more cash, a new cpu such as a q9550 would go a very long way. Those 775 core 2 quads are still beats, especially the extreme ones. If the new found performance from the gpu upgrade would give you enough performance, hold off upgrading cpu until you have more cash and can go to a new socket. Piledriver or haswell would be a wise choice.
