I installed BearShare on my computer, but it puts up a desktop shortcut to Free Emoticons for your Messenger Online, bundled with the Bearshare desktop shortcut. Why the f*ck is this always showing?
Is this a virus or what? I never wanted to click that since I thought it was a virus.
I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't a virus. BearShare is a sort of a... Limewire equivalent. Just make sure to back up your crap just in case it is a virus, lol.

BearShare <IS> malware, in and of itself. It was originally written for the Gnutella Network, but in a settlement with the RIAA the original owners (Free Peers) turned over the IP of the program to a subsidiary of iMesh (MusicLab)
Now consider this: do you really think the RIAA would have this as a condition if they didn't somehow control MusicLab? And if they control MusicLab, don't you think they could easily add spyware to BearShare to track what people download?
In fact, that is precisely what they do. This isn't surprising given the invasive nature of iMesh itself.

1. Download Malwarebytes
2. Do a full scan
3. Remove what it finds
4. Download CCleaner
5. Remove registry errors
