Ok, well I finally downloaded BF3 and I started playing the campaign.
Every second or so it will stutter, really bad sometimes, I have it set to high and my gpu should be able to handle that right? Specs in sig, even when I have it set to low it does the same thing.
So I restarted my computer and it cleared it up. But then it comes back, any ideas? It could be the bloatware that came with my ASRock driver cd that I have been trying to install.
OT: I'm not sure why it's stuttering, but you should easily be able to handle BF3 on High. I have the same card and I get around 40-80 fps(w/out Vsync) on Ultra settings with 2x MSAA and medium AA post.

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.

I think it was E7500, BF3 is more CPU intensive because when i had my E7500 with gts250 (shitty video card) it ran at 20fps. When i upgraded to 2600k i did testing with the old gts250 and it ran 40-50 on high.BTW
Dual core won't suffice these days
I dont think a $50 video card was bottlenecking my cpu
For some reason, I cannot monitor framerate with msi afterburner. The part where it says "Framerate" and has the tray/osd stuff next to it is grayed out...

Have you actually tried clicking on the check next to Framerate? Mine was kind of grayed out too and I just clicked on the check mark and it worked fine. You just have to click the check and then enable show in OSD.

It is just really annoying.
Hint: look at his sig

In my sig
Well, I guess I'll keep trying
2. Pentium
3. hint hint BF3 requires Quad core.
1. It's sandy bridge
2. It's sandy bridge
3. It uses 1 or 2 cores.
GH =/= Performance. What cpu was it. And what gpu do you have? BF3 is more gpu intensive.
Also, it the cpu was old enough, it was probably bottle-necking the gpu.
I have it on, but now in the Going Hunting mission (Jet one) it keeps replaying the voice audio at the beginning.
Hmm... Try defraging, that seems like its a game problem.
Wow, I was 19% fragmented. Defraging now.
alright
That's because your CPU used an older architecture and also Battlefield 3 never uses more than 2 cores:

Definitely not. Maybe use some software to monitor your GPU and CPU activity while playing and see if one of them is working at around 100%.

OMFG. Thanks... >.<
