Ok so, my friend is looking for a computer to suit his needs. He basically wants to be able to play WoW on Ultra and it not lag. While my new computer does the perfectly, it may be overkill and a little bit too pricey for the needs of my friend. So what kind of stuff could I go for in a build for my friend?
My knowledge of computers is a little bit behind, I have no clue about this whole Ivy Bridge stuff. I was still saying he should get an i5-2500 (Which may still work, I don't know.)
So if anyone could, please point me in the right way of a good computer build. If possible have it in the high 600s or low to mid 700s. (USD)
Thanks,
Savageclown

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/aIEp should do it, maybe change the CPU to an i3 2100, iirc WoW likes the slightly higher performance

Would the Pentium hold back the 6870? And he doesn't need a 6870, my 6850 runs it more than perfectly. Also, I may change the RAM to something like G.Skill, never heard of that brand. And will 500w be enough if planning to upgrade in the future? Maybe a 600w would be better.
Would these things I just said be something to look at, or is what you said pretty much what I should be going for?

the sandybridge based Pentiums are just i3's minus the hyperthreading, since most games do not use more then two cores they are plenty, the 6870 can be changed to a 6850, i just thought since it was in budget why not, the RAM is a pretty good brand, Wintec has been around a while, PSU is plenty, maybe a 550W but Corsair has a 600W for $59, may be worth looking into but a single 500W is enough for a 680 + i7, so it should be fine for that
