Graphics Tech Conference.
It's an event that Nvidia sponsors. I would love to go to it, everyone who went there got a free GTX 480 (Old and hot running I know, but free and still decent performance).

Holy crap!
How come I haven't heard of this by now?

I wouldn't keep my hopes up on the GTX 680. Personally, unless it was running a custom cooler such as MSI's Twin Frozr, I wouldn't touch a 480; they run at insanely high temperatures and anandtech got them to get incredibly loud
Although, depending on what you have, the 480 could be a nice upgrade, especially if you wear a headset.
It's still a free $200 card, which still maxes out many games just fine
And no, I'm not expecting him to give me the 680 or the 480. The 480 wouldn't be an upgrade for me, anyways.
Wait is it branded with like EVGA or is it just the straight up nVidia card..because I've always thought the pure stock cards look cool (although they are crappy in everything else )
A stock Nvidia card for the 480. I'd be safe to assume the same with the 680 (He posted pictures on Facebook of the 480, but didn't say anything about the 680).
Jelly, the 480 is a great card, it's about the same as a 560 ti 448 core. D:

Yeah that too, but everyone who attended got a 480.

Maybe he'll give me the 680, as the 480 should be more than enough for anything he's doing in Linux that I'm aware of
Yeah, he doesn't play games really. I'm not going to ask him though, 'cause I don't really need an upgrade. I'll just silently plead in my head
Razeredge, would you consider giving me your old card the your brother gives you his?

I dunno, I don't think everyone can go. The stuff they talk about there is pretty advanced.
When's the next one?
Not sure. I'll see if I can find out.
Haha thanks

For the most part it's for people who actually study in the field. Not fun and games

Not to mention the 680
