Hopefully. Otherwise, I'm going to AMD for this round. If they are more expensive than Tahiti/Tahiti XT, not impressed. I can get the 7970 with a reference cooler for £325.
This should make a price difference probably make AMD drop some prices.
Nvidia screwed up this round they cut out there cards ability to do GPGPU work so they could gain better gaming performance but only came out minor ahead of AMD who had improvements in GPGPU and Gaming.
The reason why Nvidia's new cards get beaten in some aspects of the testing is because Nvidia is trying to distinguish the gaming cards (GeForce) from the workstation cards (Quadro). So if you just purely going to game, Nvidia is good. If you do some of gaming and some of the workstation stuff, go with ATI. Nvidia just want GeForce cards to be for pure gaming. Yes, it's disappointing, but it's their marketing strategy and to be honest, for pure gaming, GTX 680 is better than 7970 in many games on lower resolutions (1680x1050, 1920x1080 etc).
If I am wrong somewhere, please correct me, but this is what Nvidia is doing.
