I'm just thinking about the more moving parts, and more moving parts wear out more quickly. Also the heat from the fans, I think the Sapphire one has a better heat sink under its one fan.
Looks good, but I have no experience with Gigabyte cards.
Opinions are like armpits. Everyone has one and some stink, now if someone says your armpits stink it isn't very polite to go rubbing it in their face, it isn't going to make them say yours doesn't stink it'll just make them dislike you and your armpit even more. Remember keep your armpits and opinions respectful.
Anyone here from texas? I will be going to TSTC in Waco in 2 years. Tuition is already paid :smile.gif: i am either going for an associates in HPC (high performance computing) or computer technician. I'm thinking technician because i love building and tinkering with all sorts of technology
Same, cannot wait for it to end (senior ftw) though i'll kinda miss it XD also itt tech computer engineering = where i want to go :tongue.gif: ( holy tuition batman)
Here's two pictures of my build:
Should I put an SSD in there too? Have a Crucial M4 64GB, but I'm not sure if I should put my PSU under even more stress.

SSDs use a little less power than HDDs so I don't think you will be too off.
Here are my specs:
i5 2400
Gigabyte 6870 (Factory overclocked)
4GB G.Skill ECO 1.35V 1,600MHz
Gigabyte P67A-UD3B3
Corsair 500CX
Samsung SATA 5,400RPM (D:)
Random LG DVD-RW

6870 doesn't pull a ton amount of power, so you should be fine.
As for the drive, are you sure it's 5400RPM? If so that kind of sucks :sad.gif: SSD would definitely improve performance.

I didn't have a clue what I was doing (this time last year), so I asked for help on another forum.
Turns out that the person who helped me had no clue either.
Which is also why I got the ECO series; $80 for 4GB.
And why I got a 2400 when I said that I wanted to overclock in the future.
Takes about 1 minute to boot Windows, but it takes another minute before I can open any programs.

Not bad really.
The performance difference between 7200RPM and 5400RPM isn't TERRIBLE usually, and is not always noticeable, it's just not ideal.

IdealPC's website isn't fully organized, so the best way to find what your looking for is to go to the bottom of the page and choose 'Other' and search on from there.
Playtech, has a good organised webpage, but isn't fully up to date with stock and items, so it's best to check out their store if you live in Auckland.
Ascent have free shipping though, so that is where you make your savings, also the customer service is AMAZING. I Ordered something on a Friday morning and received it on Saturday morning.

3 to 4 grand?
Monitors were 200ish each. The 2 5870's were 500 each when i got them. Ya just over $3000 CDN. :biggrin.gif:
@ Maldwag: I'm a student too :smile.gif:
A student that is either a drug dealer, or mommy and daddy has money to hand them, lol. Just kidding, very nice build.
Well, I forgot I had class last night so I didn't have to to get the pics, but I have some with my old monitor my son has now, and of the desk I built just for my set up. I will get some more tonight when I get home, no class.
I love the old school Centurion case, tooless is always my fav, it is also compact. Notice that the comp has it's own slide out tray, nice to do quick work on it.
Nice thing about being able to work with wood is customizing your desk, that is my sub shelf, keeps it off the floor and sounding good.
The big white tower to the left is our 7 Terra media server, there is now another small server next to it just for MC and KF. I need to work on my cable management on the floor, just never got around to it, was so excited when I got it all up and running. I will give some general specs for you:
Media server and the MC server are just AMD X2s with 4 gigs each running fedora, nothing special, they are just really big storage devices.
My system is an I5 2400, 8 gigs, a single GTX 560, 23" LED Monitor 4 Terra worth of HDs.
It is all routed through a gig lan system that ends with a wonderful Netgear WNDR 3700, oh how I love that router.
Nothing to write home about, but like I said, here are the specs for the other 3 comps in house, pics to follow.

DFW.
Little different for me, I am a sophomore.

Mind if I ask where?
It's not a tech forum, or anything of the rather.
Just a small forum about another game, which I don't play much anymore.
Ah then yeah they probably didn't.
When in doubt google.
>_>
Every thread in this forum goes off topic later on, I'm surprised you guys haven't noticed this.
They're both cheaper than Ascent.

Open it up!
Lol, I think he wants a pic.
Ohh.
Then you won't mind me saying that it's ugly, then?
The patterns just don't work.
I want either this or a NZXT Phantom.
It's nice and simple :smile.gif:.
