I'm currently running a dual-monitor setup off of one video card, but I want to add a TV that clones my primary monitor. Problem is I don't have the same video card, but an older Radeon. Will I run into problems if I run both cards at the same time?
I know you shouldn't mix RAM, so I'm assuming the same thing applies here.
It can work. If not, just turn off the computer. I use a mixed setup sometimes with my on board graphics card and my discrete one. Everything works fine, and the same principle should apply for your rig. If the mixed cards fail, just turn off the computer and remove the problematic card.

oh, wait, you have an NVIDIA and ATI. THAT'S a bad idea.
You can actually mix a AMD card and run an nvidia card as a Physx card but it requires some hackery. Also if you got a fancy motherboard with lucid hydra you can mix graphics card of any kind.
