My Sony Viao (model number in description) is playing up, i have sent it back to sony for repairs twice now and both times come back with the same problem, the graphics (Intel HD Graphics 3000 / AMD Radeon HD 6630M, 1GB ) wont change between eachother. instead the graphics STAYS on the Intel graphics, and wont change to high performance AMD Radeon graphics :sad.gif: i have no idea what is wrong or how i can switch them, i have searched and searched for the answer, but i guess it is too specific for me to find, is there anyone who knows how to permanantly switch to the higher performance AMD graphics ? because i dont even care about "power saving" grrrr... thanks <3 <3 <3
by the way, minecraft lags as well -.-
it should be blitz'in skyrim. i doubt at this stage i wont be playing that either >.>
Does this computer have an i3/i5/i7 series processor?
If it is: Go into the BIOS and change the default display device to PCI-e, if that is not there there should be an option to disable sandy bridge's graphics somewhere in there.
If not, you will need to physically exchange it for a new one, not send it to get repaired.

What country do you live in?
If EU/US there are laws in most countries/states that make selling a defective product illegal. If anything I'd threaten to ask for a manager, and when you get him and he says the same ask for the higher up manager, and the same with him.
Usually gets them to get off your back and do what you want them to.

I live in New Zealand. I can threaten to take them to Consumers court.

Quick check says you're protected. Do what I said above with the managers, usually works.
ok, but i still want to try and fix what im having issues with first before i go there, that is kind of a last resort if you know what i mean
then go to BIOS as the above guy says and look for the setting (make sure newest BIOS)
reinstall newest driver, there should be a setting in catalyst control center
btw: there's no quad core mobile i5, only dual cores
well idk what to believe, because the cpu is most definitly a i5 intel quad core processor.
Nope, it's most likely dual-core with hyper-threading, giving you 4 VIRTUAL, not REAL cores.
Mhm. Looks like they only have 2.
