If you had googled it, then you'd have realized it means your hard drive is failing and you need a new one.
Your hard drive is about to die and SMART is telling you to get a new drive NOW and transfer your files in the maybe 3 days (or less) it has left on this earth.
Were is not for SMART, your drive would have just died and your files would go with it.
If you can surf internet and check your files I suggest you to save your important files in a removable disk and format your computer, if the problem still there it is a hardware problem.
301 is a mechanical/electromagnetic failure. The drive is unrecoverable but SMART is giving him a little leeway to backup whatever is important before it's dead for good.
Thanks for the replies.
But it looks like that i cant open safemode now... well... then its time for changing the hard drive :/
I'd not risk turning on the PC until you get a new drive, depending on how severe it is it might not even last a day.
Get a new drive and install your OS of choice. Once it's installed shut down and plug in the old drive to transfer files from.
You don't want to cycle (turn it on/off) the drive too many more times if it's a mechanical or electromagnetic failure and you are hoping to recover files from it. This way only requires you to cycle it twice, then you can remove it next restart once your files are safe.
Then do what you will, if it's the head/platter that is dying and not the spin up speed you could always turn it into a bitchin' clock:

Good thing that my hard drive didn't contain important data.
Also, thanks for the info ;D

I know that feel. :tongue.gif:
"I should really backup my data..... But good god am I lazy. Actually I won't need to re-download too much and my game saves are already sync'd to my flash drive and the Steam cloud..... Eh, screw it."
