I recently bought a minecraft server from GSVerse.net and told my friend to get online. I gave him admin and stuff and I created an online account so he could restart the server if it crashed. A few days later I noticed some new plugins and stuff as well as modified permissions. I asked him how he did it. He said he hacked the websites database.
I thought he was kidding, but then he recited to me the password, RCON Password, and the Spectator Password. I thought he might have gained access through the admin panel, so I deleted the account and changed my password. I told him that I changed my password and he laughed saying he would know it as soon as the database updated in approximately 48 hours.
What can I do to protect myself! Should I contact the Owners and tell them?
I am trying to find a way of stopping him from hacking my email and stuff. I don't want to annoy him so that he completely ruins my internet life. Thats why I am keeping him as an admin on my server. Can I anonymously report him?
He may be bluffing. I pretend to hack people on xbox live all the time, I can recite some info for them and the freak out. Probably just a troll bluffing you. Change your passwords to email and social networking stuff just to be safe. Don't make them the same password, or something really guessable.
Was he at your house at all? Has he ever used your computer? (could have installed a key logger or something.)Maybe since you gave him admin privileges he could have somehow got your admin account. I would suggest removing his admin privileges and maybe ban his ip. To play it safe.
Post here with any other info you have and update this whenever you can and I'll do my best to help.
The thing is. HE DOESNT have access to any of those things. I tried making a test account for myself exactly the same as his and I couldn't find it anywhere.
