Recently, my desktop got a virus. It was one of those fake antivirus ones. It claimed EVERYTHING was a virus on my computer.
I did what any sensible man would do and I ran a system restore to an earlier point in time. But now, my internet is down.
I honestly have no clue why. I restored to a safe point in time, when my internet was working fine with no problems. I got a free replacement modem from my ISP, but that didn't help the problem. I'm on an HP, and HPs can factory reset without a disk, so I tried jamming F11 at the start-up screen to initiate the reset. My computer acts as if I am just not even touching a button. I think that's because I ran it once in the past.
Help would be greatly appreciated. I've been without internet for a few weeks now. My wireless works, and I'm posting from my laptop. Try to keep answers in layman's terms; I'm not very good with the lingo.
Alright. I'll try it out. My keyboard is not USB, so I'm going to assume it's the other kind. I don't want to get a virus on my laptop from download an OEM version, so I'm not going to risk that. I don't have an antivirus, :/.
Thanks for the help.
