No. The file is encrypted using the password and the password is necessary to decrypt it.
So you are saying, there is no way, or any hacking to just decrypt it?, i really need those files
what if i made it a ZIP file and opened the file with windows explorer, (yes windows explorer can open ZIP files) will that work? will it still ask for a password?

Not without brute forcing, which you already tried.
i really need those files
Turns out the encryption doesn't care.
what if i made it a ZIP file
You can't change the format without decompressing it first, and you can't decompress it without the password. If it is a .rar file you cannot rename it to a .zip and have the Explorer Shell Extension, or any other zip program, open it.

A password is required for the data to be decompressed into anything useful. It isn't just a flag on the file telling programs they should prompt for a password which can be ignored. The password is actually necessary for and used during decompression to decrypt the information, and the same password is required because it was the same password used during encryption.

okay, well that's bad.. i have no other option except that i will squeeze my brain until i remember the password, all i remember that there was "Leaf" in the password.. :l
Anyway Thanks so much for helping :3 i owe you that
Few years before i had a very important file and i locked it with a winrar password
don't ask why.. i have my reasons
Anyway a couple of days ago, i needed those files but it appears that i forgot the password
I Searched everywhere, from Google.. and.. okay i even used bing ... :l
but none helped..
so any known way that i can break my winrar password?
I'm just a very boring person.
i tried that.. no success

Maybe if you had NASA's Supercomputers. Yes.
Otherwise those files are never going anywhere without the master key.
