Hello again.. I just recently got almost all the parts(all but win8) for my PC build. Here's the list. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/nWG8wP Me and my father have almost finished assembling it using the Newegg build videos, like in the video we assembled the Mobo with the RAM+GPU+CPU+Stock cooler, powered it on and it displayed on the monitor. Now that all of the parts are in the case, drives and such too, when powered on all it does is turn on the GPU LED. The CPU cooler doesn't come on, no other LEDs come on and the case fans don't come on. This is making me think it's the Mobo. Yes both the power cables that connect to the Mobo are connected.
UPDATE: I took the Mobo out, took one stick of ram out, so now it's just
the mobo, cpu, cooler, gpu and 1 ram stick. And it all turns on! Why
would it work outside the case, but not inside though?? Although I am
happy I didn't like fry the Mobo somehow!
Maybe you plugged something in that wasn't fully plugged in? Maybe it's faulty RAM. Try putting the other stick in anjd see if it boots. If it doesn't, it's probably the RAM or the slot on the motherboard.

Tested all the RAM slots with both sticks, def not that. As for something not plugged in right, it just got transferred to the table, so I think that if something wasn't plugged in right it would have not worked out of the case?

The case doesn't have anything to do with components not working. Does having it inside your case with only one ram stick in still work?
I'm waiting for my father to get back from work to put it back in. I'll be back here when I try it! And out of the case with both RAM sticks in it works.

Are you not plugging something in while it's in your case? It could be as simple as not putting the SATA cable all of the way in on the hard drive. Or not having your GPU in all of the way.
Because if it's out of the case and does work, and in the case it doesn't, then you're most likely not plugging something in correctly.

Yeah I'm guessing one of the drives aren't plugged in right when it's in the case.. Would something small like that make the Mobo not even power up?

Shouldn't do, no. Make sure the 24 pin connector is plugged in all the way. All the way. I once didn't do so (was incredibly hard to plug in for some reason. I put it down to Coolermaster QC) and I spent a couple of days troubleshooting it before I figured it out.

That's what we saw after the 200th time of trying It had like a 16th of an inch gap. I pressed it until a snap and no gap, but it still didn't work. But that still was before we took it and now have it working. Like I said later today I'll be putting it back in. Win8 doesn't come until HOPEFULLY tomorrow but if the tracking is right it's looking more like early next week. So I have awhile before I can do anything anyway.
And whilst I'm here, I bought one of these desks recently as I'm on a tight budget furniture wise. Do you think in the spot where the PC is supposed to go, under the elevated shelf, there's enough airflow?

Are the motherboard standoffs installed properly? Are you using the appropriate screws to screw the motherboard into the standoffs?
Standoffs are installed properly from what I can tell from pictures. And, for some reason the Mobo didn't come with standoffs or screws. Both came with the case though.

If it's working fine out of the case with all components installed, it sounds like a short, and standoffs are the first thing you should check, double check, and triple check. Make sure you don't have extra standoffs installed, only the ones that match up with the hole pattern in your motherboard. Ensure there isn't any foreign material and that the I/O shield is installed in the correct orientation and seated firmly into position.
Also when installing your mobo, take care not to bend any of the I/O shield tabs the wrong way and check that none of them have wound up inside a port instead of around it.
We did what everyone said here, and with everything but the GPU on the Mobo so far, of course we'll test with the GPU in a few minutes, but it came on in the case!

It's done! All the software I need for right now has been installed, I got minecraft, and it runs at a solid 300 FPS with everything maxed except render on 12. And 150-250 FPS with everything maxed including render. Amplified runs at like 250+ FPS with render turned down to 12 also. This is without Optifine.

You should try out Optifine. With me having installed it on my i3 and 960 I get 275-600 fps. Congratz though man!

Thanks! Yeah, I just got some shaders, without optifine SEUS ULTRA runs at 40-60 FPS with render on 12 and the rest maxed. The only problem is the water glitch.. Right now I'm using KUDA which runs at 70-100 FPS same settings, and TBH I might like it overall as much as SEUS.

I like them, but it really personally like Chocopic due to it not being too much but not too less. Looks nice. I get about the same frames as you. SUES is a bit glitchy. EDIT: Did some more looking into it, and it does effect shadows a bit.

Should be perfectly fine so long as it's not completely hard against the wall. Not like it's an enclosed cupboard.
