So last night I had an idea to make an RPG Horror game sorta kinda but not really based on something that happened to me and some friends. So all last night I was thinking of story and the character design and the maps. Then today I went to download it and found out the cheapest version was $25. However, there is a free version of one of the higher level ones. It has some limitations, but a lot of them seem to be on weapons, classes, enemies, and the like, all of which I don't need many of.
So my question to you, forum, is whether or not it's enough to make an rpg horror game. Or if there's any other free alternatives that would do the job better
Oh yeah sorry. the biggest thing in it is the maps, I'm not sure what a map means specifically. Like I want to make a highschool, but would each classroom count as a map?
And the rest is just 5 people and the evil thing(not sure what yet) in said high school

I think you interpreted what I was asking. I don't know what your project specifications are, such as graphical requirements and game mechanics. I can't help decide whether RPG Maker VX Ace Lite will work for you (or even RPG Maker VX Ace's full version for that matter).
