So I figured (if it's not to creepy) where all everybody will be staying at Minecon. My buddy and I reserved our travel and hotel before we got our Minecon tickets (which would have been a really bad idea if we hadn't gotten our minecon tickets). We will be rolling in around Friday morning to get situated and get a feel for how it's going to be set up.
Still not done yet for us, we're looking for the cheapest option possible that would include a full kitchen in the room and not just a microwave and a fridge. We also need 3 beds or 2 beds and at least 1 sofa bed that wouldn't have the mattress completely stained or ruined by kids wetting or jumping on it (stayed at the Enclaves Suites for 3 weeks last year and I slept on the sofa bed and preferred it closed rather than open, it was much comfortable while closed directly on the sofa even if my back hurts just to think about this experience, and we visited 10 rooms before we took this one, hell even one of the sofa bed in one of the room clearly smelled urine an indication that one child wet it not so long before we arrived.
Homewood Suites by Hilton. It was not our first choice but Sundays went standby so fast. I was hoping to be closer and be in a Sheridan or Marriot. Oh well!
We have a room at the Sonesta ES Suites. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, sofa bed, and kitchen. It is on I Drive so we plan on taking the trolley to the convention center. We will arrive Friday and leave Monday.
Fairfield Inn at Sea World. It's not right across the street from the convention center but it's still on International Drive and it looked really nice from the photos and had good reviews. Mainly picked for the price....it was on flash sale on Expedia yesterday for $89/night.
I'll be at the Quality Suites Universal South and will also be getting in on Friday morning to get settled in. Unfortunately for me I will be alone as none of my family really enjoys the video game scene so if anyone is looking to hang out through the convention I am all for it. Send me a PM or say something here if interested.
From what I read it's connected to Convention Center via some walkway.. tho it is a Hilton Resort, so they'll charge you extra for stuff you dont want/need...
BTW Homewood Suites have kitchens.
So did I. I live in Orlando, and I can say it's the nicest hotel here, and the rooms are more than half off.
It is literally attached to the Orange County Convention Center as well, so no road crossing or shuttle busses.
