I don't run many mods, in fact I usually only run optifine and worldedit and they're both finally updated to 1.16 so I figured I would update from 1.14. Unfortunately something isn't working right, I've just downloaded forge 34.0.0, optifine HD U G3 for 1.16.3 (which says it's for forge 34.0.0), and worldedit 7.2.0_rc1.
Now I'm getting some really weird graphical bugs, stone bricks are appearing pure black, north-south glass panes connect but east-west panes don't, some stairs are appearing blue, trapdoors are purple, etc. (see pictures). I figure it's some issue between optifine and forge since running with just optifine everything works fine.
Has anyone else run into this? I couldn't really find anything about it on google, any ideas?
1.14+ Optifine when used alongside mods requires OptiForge or OptiFabric as a compatibility layer to use alongside Optifine due to Forge removing the code that OptiFine can use or the OptiFine team just moving away from it because of how particular they can be with it. I don't know the actual talks/reasoning but that's my guess at least.
Otherwise use something like Sodium or Particles Cull or other mods for performance, zoom/dynamic lights mods are out there if that's what your after for more options. Otherwise for Shaders and Resource Packs then yeah go with OptiFine still.
I don't use OptiFine or mods that offer those features but I keep this information in mind to pass on to others (especially when I look on the forums, review mods or document mod updates on the forums) as I've noticed it since OptiFabric in the 1.14 era and same with Forge in the 1.15 era onwards.
Ah, I remember hearing something about that before, that doesn't seem to have fixed it but maybe I'll just give up on optifine. I mostly only use it for connected textures and better render distance anyway.

Either way you need to use these mods if you want to use OptiFine with either modloader for 1.14+ versions of Minecraft now. I have the link to it here: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/optiforge

Fair enough. There is Connected Textures mods out there, CTM is for 1.16.1 sadly but may move to 1.16.3 https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/ctm and the rest I've seen are for Fabric, but otherwise I only know of a Connected Glass mod https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/connected-glass and a few Zoom mods https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/simplezoom for Forge if your interested. Otherwise either keep looking or just give up on it/try another OptiFine/OptiForge version if the latest for 1.16.3 doesn't work.
