Good afternoon, it's been over 7 years that I do not play minecraft and gave me a huge longing to play a very old and specific version with very specific mods that only exist for 1.2.5 (yes, this old version 80% buggy and limited)
I can not put forge for this version because if I do as I was used to 6 years ago putting the same directly in .jar the game updates and does not accept the mod, but this archaic version of minecraft does not have an installer like the new versions, only the .zip file
Could someone more up-to-date than this old man with the technology know how to tell me how to install forge on 1.2.5?
Hello. Forge for old versions can be tricky to get working or are unavailable. I'd recommend using the Twitch or MultiMC https://multimc.org/ launchers as they make installation of Forge much easier and clear. Even modpack launchers like Technic I've had to use some times because I just don't get mods from this era very well and wanted installation to be simple.
Someone else might be able to answer you better than I can but these a what I use to get around it.
As far as I can guess Forge is used alongside Modloader during that era still I think, or it requires Forge to be used in a particular way with META-INF files still. I don't know much about this era myself, I started modding in 1.4.5 onwards. There might be Youtube videos from that era that could show you how if there isn't any response.
