Select Install Client or Install Server if you want to install for your server.
Hit OK.
Open Minecraft launcher and select Minecraft Forge in Profile menu (Ex: Forge 1.11…).
Run game and explore your new mod.
I do the install but when I open minecraft launcher forge is not showing. Somewhere I read that windows 10 will not allow mods. Not sure exactly about that. Can someone help?
1. That's not a good place to get Minecraft Forge. The plugin from StopModReposts indicates the site is blacklisted. I suggest you get it from http://files.minecraftforge.net/ instead.
2. From what I can see through the blacklist overlay, the page you linked is for "Forge Mod Loader", which is only part of Minecraft Forge, and might be why you're not seeing Forge in the profile menu.
3. I can state from personal experience that mods work in Windows 10, at least if you're using the Java edition under Windows 10, rather than the "Windows 10 Edition", which is actually an adaptation of Minecraft Pocket Edition. It might be possible to add mods to that, but they'd be Pocket Edition mods, not Forge mods, and I'm not familiar with how to install them.
4. I use MultiMC, which makes installing Forge a lot easier than with the standard launcher.
ok. I dl'd your link for minecraft forge. I then dl'd the MultiMC. I then ran MultiMC but it says no instance selected. I am still lost. Is there any chance you could give me step by step instructions? If that is too much trouble I understand. Thanks for the help so far.
I don't know what could cause a "no instance selected" message, but I suggest you watch the spotlight video at the bottom of MultiMC's homepage. It explains things better than I can.
