On 1.11.2 you used getBrightness and getBrightnessForRender to render or light up the item and an entity thrown, which this being the entity class for example. In game then the item model and entity appear to be bright or lit up:
This is also the same code on 1.12.2 as it shows no errors.
Although using the following does not change the brightness of my item model or the entity that has to do with the item on 1.12.2:
public float getBrightness(float partialTicks)
{
return 0.001F;
}
@SideOnly(Side.CLIENT)
public int getBrightnessForRender(float partialTicks)
{
return 15728880;
}
My question is what do I need to change this to or change the values themselves to in order for my entity to appear bright so I can see it at night in game?
Do I need to change how I'm applying the brightness or do I need to change the values themselves somehow?

Does anyone know how this works or have a link to any information on this?
I looked up some code for glowsquid and couldn't find anything for 1.12.2 although I found the light value for the entity and changed my code:
This did not work either.
I would really like this to work however.
This works:
