You have to decompile them with MCP and JDK, then you can open the files with a program like notepad++ or eclipse (whatever that is, hope it can read java) Do a search for them.
EDIT: Your signature says I'm near Brisbane but in fact I'm 2000km away. So fail.
I was letting those who don't know what eclipse is know, and I also don't think I should have to reformat the files if ime using eclipse.
'.class' files are compiled code for the JVM to read. '.java' files are uncompiled code for humans to read. You need the '.java' files.
Try MCP. It decompiles and deobfuscates the files for you.

I had a mod back in Beta 1.8.1, but I quit for a while so it hasn't been updated since then. WTF <-- If you'd like to try and update it, let me know. (It won't be an easy task, I'm sure)
