I want to start this off with saying this is the first times I've been on here and I have no idea how this works. I was told that I should put some of he ideas I came up for future updates on here, so I hope you think of these ideas as interesting.
Idea #1
So, we all want a cave update right? I mean we already have the craft in Minecraft, but where's the mining portion? So far we have tons of villages, places to explore, and companions to acquire, but the only things we go under the ground for is ore, mineshafts, and strongholds. Let's not just have better cave systems, but more things to look forward to when mining? So I propose we have underground villages. Imagine! They could be hanging from the ceilings of caverns or carved inside the walls of ravines. I imagine most of the villagers would be miners, and instead of growing wheat, carrots, and potatoes they survive off of mushrooms. Plus the caves were bigger there could be a few giant mushrooms in the villages.
And that isn't even the best part, they would have stone golems. More tedious to build, yes, but since they are underground and pumpkins require sunlight they'd have to ditch using iron golems. I am still debating on weather or not stone golems would be stronger or weaker than their brothers, but besides the point. Instead of using pumpkins, they would place lava or maybe a torch where the golems head would be. This would give them the ability to light up the surrounding area so you can string one along while mining and have it light the way without having to create torches. This traveling light effect would also give them a chance to allow us to hold a torch in our hand while lighting the way without placing it. This would be more realistic and helpful, but it would make it hard to know where you've been so you might still want to place torches.
Idea #2
This one might be a bit shorter
I love mushrooms, and it is a very handy food source. So I propose we add more depth to mushrooms in minecraft. For instance making it so you can eat mushrooms raw, but it will cause a poisoning affect. This will push the player to cook the mushrooms in a furnace thus producing a cooked mushroom that will not poison you. This will add more realism and more uses for the copious amount of mushrooms in the world.
Now, onto dark oak forests. Dark oak forests have the large mushrooms right? And mushrooms have mycelium networks underground. So I was thinking that the dirt under dark oak forests could contain bits of mycelium. You would be able to put for of these block together to create a single block of mycelium like the ones you'd find on a mushroom island. The best part is that you wouldn't require silk touch any longer. This would also explain how so many trees are so packed together and so large in dark oak forests because mycelium networks deliver nutrients to trees that help them thrive.
I also thought you would be able to use mushrooms in potions, possibly poison potions, but it would also cause nausea due to the hallucinogenic properties of mushrooms.
got to tell u that saying the same idea that been said for ages doesnt increases it chances so mabey if you want something to happen mabey do something with it that hasnt been done before?
I am very confused? I just wanted to share my thoughts. It doesn't matter if others have said it before, and mind you I haven't heard many people talk about the things I mentioned, what matters is that I get my thoughts on the topic out there. Whether or not someone may or may not have mentioned the idea before. Please, let me know who else has thought of hallucinogenic mushrooms and the mycelium in the dark oak forest, because I would really enjoy discussing with them about this topic.
