- Ore Searching: your dog will bark and face the direction that an ore is in if the dog is within a 15 block radius of the ore.
- Disarm: The wolf has a 10% chance to force a mob or player to drop whatever theyre holding when bitten by the wolf
- Chestplate: In real life, police and military dogs wear vest to help the dog in combat. So i think it would be really neat if this was also a feature in minecraft to help make the dog more useful in your fights. It also can make your dog look pretty cool with its armor on
- Pet Aura: Whoever came up with the idea of giving dolphins a swim speed buff arua, i love you! It makes interactions with animals a whole lot more pleasant, and builds somewhat of a stronger relationship with the animals (like the care you start to develop for characters in a movie as the characters display a pleasant personality). So i wanted to suggest adding a weapon damage aura to tamed wolves to further allow them to aid you in combat!
Cats
Now i know cats have recieved a lot of attention but i wanted to suggest 2 more things
- Mark Territory: If you keep your cat within a 50 block radius, of the last place you slept with it in, for a whole minecraft day, the cat will claim the 50 block radius area. Doing this keeps all mobs from spawning in that location! This is lovely for builders who simply want more ways to dim the lights down in areas without evil mobs spawning in and it adds another way to use grass blocks without worrying about passive mobs spawning
- Pet Aura: after the owner has taken damage from a hostile mob and has not takin damage from anything else afterwards for more than 5 seconds, the cat will begin to purr which will heal the owner by half a heart per second. If the owner stands still during this time, the healing is is increased to a full heart every 3 seconds. The buff will deactivate if the owner takes damage again
You would have to explain that to me a little more. Players are already allowed to put the game in peaceful or sleep to get rid of hostile mobs which is basically away to kill every mob in one hit. What im suggesting doesnt seem to be more overpowered than that to me
"And who wants to bring their dogs into caves?"
Well of course no 1 wants to right now because currently its pointless. Your dog gets in the way when youre attacking enemies and the dog is very easy to kill. More people would start bringing their dogs if the change i suggested was made and they find the mining aspect of "minecraft" exhausting and want to speed things up.
Ive been playing minecraft for a couple years and i dont mine much. i just use villagers I prefer spending my time fighting enemies, building beautiful structures, and hanging with my friends a lot more than mining for hours. With that being said, there is a nice chance that im not the only one who feels that way. Which is why im purposing a small change to mining
The peaceful thing is really cheaty though. The chestplate would make dogs very hard to kill and make them sort of unbalanced, especially with the pet aura which is incredibly useful and is like an enchantment. The cat marking territory doesn't really make sense and is so overpowered. I don't understand how you don't think it is. 50 block radius is a lot just for a cat. And with 4 cats you could have a 100x100 mob free zone! Just 4 cats! And the cat's pet aura is basically a mini regeneration potion which is a bit much for a scraggly animal you found scavaging in a village.
"The cat marking territory is doesnt make sense, I dont understand how you dont think its too op"
Its optional, just like the choice of putting your game in peaceful. If you dont like it, its fine not to use it.
Also you would have to understand how cats work in the wild. They mark territory to help predators know of their location. So i applied it in a way that still gives off that feeling of the way the animal behaves in real life, while adding a bit of unrealness to it, just like how the dolphins give you a swim speed boost doesnt make sense but is in the game and is fun!
"The pet aura is a bit much for a scraggly cat"
Define what you mean by this. I only see it giving you the ability to do more things, and being able to do more i would imagine is fun in most peoples eyes.
The 50 blocks is way too much though if you do want to have it, make it more like 5 blocks. With just 9 cats you could have a 150x150 mob-free area, and that goes for the caves underneath aswell, ruining a lot of the danger to mining.
What I meant is the pet aura is pretty overpowered for a mangy cat you found on the streets purring.
My goal in making it a 50 block radius is to keep you from having to have cats all over place. Im down to slightly reduce the radius and get multiple cats, but not so much to the point where you see them everywhere. It would be too much like using torches except you cant hide them with all the meowing
But if all your asking is for more difficulty in obtaining (what to me is a small radius) a 50 block no mob zone im okay with that. Just would prefer it to not be done by covering the map in cats like we have to do with torches lol. Maybe you have to walk the cat around your house every 10 minecraft days to keep mobs from not spawning in those areas.
"Pet aura is overpowered for a cat"
Just took another look at what i put for the cat aura. I didnt take into account of the time it takes you to recieve damage again. Half a heart every 3 seconds seems more fitting for what i had in my mind. Ill change that

I think all of this is super OP. And who wants to bring their dogs into caves?

I like the cat's aura now with the changes. With the half a heart every 3 secs its more like a hidden feature which is cool.
But then again I still have a problem with the radius. I still think its a lot
