As we know, there are specific arrows with various effects. The purpose of this thread is to advocate for various effect commands for bows. Currently, arrows cannot be effected by commands, but they should because the arrows with effects without commands (Tipped arrows) have limited time duration and limit of effect power, enchanted bows limit how much power arrows could have, and arrows can already be summoned and killed using commands, so they should be added effects in addition.
Let us assume that effect commanded arrows will still do their basic impact like tipped arrows, where the target that gets shot by an effected arrow will also get the same exact effect as that arrow with the same degree and duration of the effect. Imagine these commands (Note that these commands will result in not working, because arrows cannot have effects):
/effect @e [type=arrow] blindness 9999999 10 true: This would make arrows blind the target and a long duration to make sure they remain their effect, along with the "True" status to hide the effect particles.
/effect @e [type=arrow] harming 9999999 20 true: This would make arrows increasing damage to the target (Possibility of death) and a long duration to make sure they remain their effect, along with the "True" status to hide the effect particles.
In order to separate arrow entities from having the same effect from two different bows with the intention to shoot an arrow with a different effect each, a wise suggestion that would be bending on the rules of commands a tad bit would be naming the bow that fires them individually and the arrow shot out from the bow could have a hidden "name" that is the same as the bow it fired out of so it is individual from other arrows fired from different bow. Again, note that separating arrows is unlikely, but this is an idea that could potentially be done through hard work.
This is why the Katorrian Empire feels that effect command for arrows would be beneficial. It hopes to develop an army where arrows can be shot and give targets various effects. Please feel free to respond in the comments below for your opinions about this matter; it is understood that this thread is a lot to grasp, so please feel free to ask questions. Should we or should we not add effect commands for arrows?
What's the point of this? It certainly won't be used in Survival.
We already have commands to have long duration potion effects, and we have commands to have insane damage arrows. I don't see why we need this on top of those.

You are right. This would have no impact on standard survival, but it could be beneficial for map making. The Katorrian Empire has its server, called Katorria and it would be very beneficial there.

I don't know if this possible, but if it is it'd be useful for mapmakers.
Support.
To both people, there appears to be a mistake on this thread. A moderator has moved it into Minecraft JAVA Edition, when it was originally under Minecraft.

In that case, get a plug-in. Or use an alternative way (instead of longer potion arrows, you can do arrows + potion effects separately).
The thread appears to have been moved back into the general Minecraft forum.
