So to be brief, I need a piston door 5 tall and 3 wide in the most condensed way possible with 1.7.10 materials(no slime blocks or observers).
I have searched Youtube, the forums, and google only to find horizontal 5x3 doors and more 3x3 doors than I care to remember. I found a kids tutorial but the doors were extremely bulky, far to bulky for practical survival use. The closest video I found was a door with an indented center from 2014...and the guy who usually makes tutorials that made the video was too lazy to even give a tutorial and just showed the mekanism without giving any explanation. I remade it to the best of my ability, and it doesn't even work right with the top block not withdrawing. (and I checked for Redstone Repeater timing, and tested it with other timing, to no avail) I cannot imagine it would be too difficult to create, but I lack the redstone expertise to create the system myself. Please, help.
Here is the video, which show's the indented door (which I do not want anyway, I'd prefer a solid 1 thick door), if anyone would like to at least see what I have been working with.
You could use two command blocks to do the same exact thing, without the huge contraption. It also looks a lot cleaner. If you want it to be instant, only one command is required:
Block One:
/fill x y z x y z <type of block here>
Block Two:
/fill x y z x y z air
You could also set up a wireless button, lever, pressure plate, character radius detection, etc. with one extra command block.
If you want it to move sideways, or up and down, you could add more command blocks with repeaters set with delay. Hope this helps.
EDIT: You could also build a section of the door, and use a clone command in a command block to do the same thing, but more efficiently if you want the bottom to have prongs.
