Here on https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/minecraft-for-windows-10/9nblggh2jhxj?activetab=pivot:overviewtab is the link Mojang provided for the Windows 10 edition. It says 'Not sold separately'. The only two options I see are below it, which are Starter collection and Master collection, with additional items I don't need. Is it possible to buy just the game, or is it just me that it's like that??
I'm not certain what the price for the Windows 10 edition ever was before, but that Starter Collection seems like a very fair price. I'm one of the folks who got the Windows 10 version for free due to owning the Java Edition.

The starter collection is only $3 more than buying the game without it. If you have the Microsoft store on your computer you should easily find it there.

Try using the Microsoft Store app to see if you can get to just the game. When I do that, it shows that I already own it, therefore it has no purchase option. The same goes for this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/minecraft-for-windows-10/9nblggh2jhxj?activetab=pivot:overviewtab
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/minecraft/9nblggh537bl?activetab=pivot:overviewtab this should work
