Pretty sure the middle villager (a cleric) can't pick up food, with the hoppers taking the food away before the villager can pick it up. Either way, the farmer should still be able to farm
My thought is that he's now too far away from the fully grown crops, or too close to a village (its reasonably close, 70 blocks or so) away from the nearest iron farm.
I think I may have gotten a fix - cutting off the corners.
Edit: Not fully fixed. I put the world into creative and the villager seems to work like a charm...
One key difference I note is the number of fully grown plants seems quite high when the villager stops, even some right in front of him and he continues to refuse to farm. Int he creative one only a few plants were fully grown. Is this a factor?
In a more relavant answer, if the villager manages to make it closer to the middle one, he does throw food.
This design is smaller than Uniarybit's design, so the distance shouldn't make that much of a difference, I'd've thought...
I've had some farm problems too. My potatoes villager stopped, I went in and knocked up a few plants and it jump started him. Then 2 days later, he just disappeared ... didn't think that could happen... so guess I'm gonna have to name tag them now.
They shouldn't disappear at all, but then my minecarts do as well, occasionally.
The villagers do tend to restart every now and then, and continue for a while. It just looks bad when there are more fully grown crops than growing ones!
Reviving this topic because my carrot farm just stopped working. Not sure why, but the farmer won't throw to the middle villager. All the crops are fully grown if I break them myself, he will plant, pick up a few, maybe break one or 2, then stop.
I'm guessing somehow my middle villager is getting some crops every so often, and he has now gotten full, the farmer doesn't want to throw crops so he has filled up, and now it's jammed.
I'll try swapping the middle guy out, but would be nice if there were some solution to keep it from happening in the future.
My thoughts are that players are not close enough to keep it going... i have had the entire farm fully grown and the farmer not do anything.
I put fences around my middle villager so it can't get the food, and that seems to work.
have you put doors near your farm? That can affect it, from what I have read...
Hi all
I just built a working auto-crop farm, but my farmer villager is no longer harvesting crops (in my case, carrots only)
Any ideas why?
Screenshot added below:
I have a similar farm setup and it's working fine. Wonder if somehow your middle villager got the crops, and now they are both full.
Will he still plant if you clear a spot?

It might be a pain in the ass, but have you tried replacing the farmer villager with a new one?
I did some testing, swapping between creative and survival in a test world, it didn't really seem to make a difference.
Either there are some spots where the villager will always lose their focus to farm, or the being far away is making it do so.
