A friend of mine started a bedrock edition realm. Coming from the java edition over to bedrock I was expecting it to be mostly the same but WRONG!
Why is the being able to see your Coordinates not a client side thing like java? I mean really just because a realm owner don't want to see his own coordinates on his screen others must go w/o knowing where they are going or not being able to tell where places in the world are located at? Why would they limit the game like this? At the rate this is going i do not see the bedrock edition ever coming anywhere close to replacing the java.
I hardly think coords are game breaking and really don't see it affecting game sales. I think it's important to keep a sense of perspective. Just because a game doesn't do something we want it to doesn't make it a broken game. Bedrock and java are two different games so it's pointless comparing them.

While I can understand your complaint, it is annoying, yes, but they seem very open to features and ideas as they constantly are changing stuff in bedrock. So giving them this idea so that they can implement user-enabled co-ordinates if the map creator has it enabled sounds great. Also while the bedrock version might be lacking compared to java, it's user base is surpassing and growing farther than I would have imagined. The amount of support and response the devs gives the fans about bedrock is surprising and I only expect bedrock to get better from here on out. So maybe one day it will fully replace java, but for now, no.

well it completely defeats the purpose of both the map and the compass and allows people on servers to give exact co-ordinates of people's bases to rob so...
Mojang has done a lot of things in bedrock to make the game harder. Unfortunately all you can do is play in one that allows coordinates, or be really good at organizing and carrying maps around.

How does it defeat the purpose of the map? The compass still points to initial spawn regardless of coords and the map still shows where you are doesn't it? I'm not clear if you are for or against coords. I'm guessing you are against them, so I'm confused why your responding to me?

why point to spawn if i could just give you the coordinates? why have a map of an area if i could just give you the coordinates of everything important? i like coordinates but i have never actually ever needed a map, i have them so that i can make map walls but thats just for looks. and i never use the compass cause spawn is always at 0,0 or a spesific coord set i can just write down
It seems rather tedious to write coords down on a bit of paper that will probably get lost when I can just glance at a map and see instantly where I am and what terrain is around me. But each to their own I guess. I think the point is, if you want coords then you can either join a realm that had them enabled, or make your own realm. Don't join a realm where the host wishes to have coords off. Seems pretty simple to me
Both have their benefits. Maps are good for ensuring you fully explore a given area, or for quick landmarks. Coords are good when traveling from point a to point b or going long distances, rather than sorting through multiple maps.
It really depends on how you play, I use both.
Ultimately though, the answer is, if you prefer coordinates on (I personally do) then only play in realms with them on.

because a lot of people consider it cheating, co-ords are usually turned off or restricted on larger servers these days
