Hi, is it possible for a PE android user to connect to any PC Minecraft server? I have a friend that has PE and i'm on PC. I have both Java and Windows 10 Minecraft. We tried Windows 10 Realms and also tried my java Minecraft server I host and neither worked. The Windows 10 edition says it supports cross platform play, i'm confused maybe i read it wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
Try using pocketmine or Nukkit on your windows machine to host the PE server. You both should be able to join the server, just make sure that you are using the one provided on the Windows 10 store and not the Java version.
Sorry, you read it wrong. The (new) Minecraft is cross-platform- it can play on computers, tablets, phones, and consoles... and they can all play together.
However. all "Minecrafts" are not the same.
I said the "(new) Minecraft" (Bedrock). Minecraft: Java Edition is basically the same game, but a completely different animal. Nothing from the java version works with the any other version. No surprise here- it's always been that way. In fact, until Win10 came along, no edition of MC could play with any other edition.
I get that it's hard for some people to wrap their head around it, but there's 2 "minecrafts", roughly the same game, but totally incompatible.

So basically the Java version is excluded from the BTU update?
