2 months ago I tried out the new version of Minecraft on Xbox one and absolutely hated it. Constant crashing, Xbox menu broken, awkward moment, converted worlds problems and so much more.
So last night I booted it up to see if it was at least playable and it actually was for the most part. I successfully converted my world block for block and was able to play for a few hours without crashing.
But I got on today and my game hardcrashed after walking over unrendered land and shut off my Xbox. I started it back up and crashed several times before I could get to the world select screen, and when I did my world was deleted and my Xbox shut off again. Since then it has been making really loud noises and Im scared its going to explode or something. I tried to uninstall it and reinstall it but it wont let me uninstall the game.
I love Minecraft but is this game allowed to be live in its current state? This was already a downgrade from Xb1 edition.
Is this being looked into?
Edit: fixed a few sentences because they had "profanity"
I agree. I can't figure out how this was ever able to be released in its current state. I've given up for awhile now. It can't be good for the console with all these crashes. For now I just keep playing the xbox version and check these boards to see if things are getting better before trying again.
Yes, I think most people can agree that the Better Together version is a bunch of bull. That's why I haven't converted over to the new version yet, (rant incoming) I mean, if the BT (better together) version had some groundbreaking feature, I would probably convert, BUT NO. Redstone is jacked up, the punch II bow technique with the elytra doesn't work anymore, it crashes a billion times an hour, and overall ithe servers are just aful, espsially Lifeboat. I remerber the good 'ol days in pocket edtion when it was just serveal games, but now you bascilly have to PAY 10 DOLLARS JUST FOR ONE SERVER! (ok, rant over)
Since the release of BT i gived it a chance, but now this game transformed from a stress release to a stress maker.i do wonder why they released it with so many problems...but lets give them another chance to fix it,untyl then,no more BT for me.
I'm not having any of these issues. Game runs super smooth for me, never crashes and is a vast improvement over the glitch riddled and limited version of minecraft as it was before in console edition

You seem to be one of the lucky ones. But this forum and the bug reports show that many of us aren't having the same success. It seems for most this version is just unplayable on the xbox one for the moment. Hopefully soon we will get a stable fix.
no, I think the majority are just quietly playing it, whilst a minority are moaning about it. The op in this thread sounds like he needs a new xbox. Most of the other complaints people are ranting about seem to focus on changes to the game that they don't like, or minor issues which will obviously be addressed. Every version of Minecraft and every update has caused issues and complaints for some people.

Say what you will. I highly doubt everyone is experiencing these bugs just because they need a new xbox.
I decided to take a try at converting my world again today since it has been a few weeks. First try, stuck at 0% and then eventually gave a failed error. Second try was at 0% for over 4 hours. Third try, same thing, 0% for hours and the the xbox was frozen (couldn't do anything or get back to the home screen). Must be the xbox?? Every other game I play and update on the xbox works just fine, including games a lot more demanding than minecraft. Then comes the world conversion errors where it cuts off peoples worlds and puts terrain over their houses and builds. Guess that is the xbox as well??
Clearly these are bugs. Based on the sheer volume of bug reports for the same issue, this is hardly an isolated case. And luckily it seems the developers agree as they are continuing to work on it (or at least saying they are working on it). I just hope they can find a solution soon.
1- The new Minecraft is not just an Xbox program. It is a merger of several separate programs that were specifically made for specific platforms. Compromises were made, for both the good and the bad. Everyone's program that they know and love changed some.
2- While there has been some "updates" to the game (ie, to add additional Store content), the game itself hasn't had a real update since BTU first came out. Of course there's bugs- every version of MC has them since Day One. Always has and probably always will. But they're working on the bugs.... and additional features.
3- I would never try to "convert an old world" when a new edition of Minecraft comes out. I always expect to start a fresh, new world... especially since I'm well aware that no conversion is perfect.
But that's me.
I'm sorry that some people are having trouble with the "conversion", but I'm also sure that Mojang has already heard plenty about it and they're working on it. They'll either fix it, or they won't. You'll be able to make the conversion at a later date, or not.
Conart, my Xbox One S is less then 6 months old. It is in perfect condition and I have no issues with other games what so ever. I made this post after reading other people on Reddit and Eurogamer that were having the exact same issues as me and other people on this forum.
I actually am able to convert my world now exactly how it was. Its a faction world that contains kingdoms that me and my friends have been working on for a few years so its not something I would want to restart anyways
Also the features and changes they added are not what Im complaining about. I still think the Xb1 edition is superior in more ways then not but Im willing to give this one a chance, that is if I could actually play it.
I don't doubt some people are having issues, but for sure some are exaggerated. I guess I am lucky in that I'm not experiencing these issues. But geneo is right, mojang are well aware of the issues and are working on them, so I don't see the purpose of all the separate threads complaining about the same issues.

Regardless of what you would do, world conversion is a feature of Minecraft and as such it isn't unreasonable to expect someone to be able to use this feature and have it work properly. Partially converting or not at all converting old worlds is in no way useful and I see no reason why someone wouldn't mention the fact that this feature, in its current state, is not operating as expected.

Have we forgotten what happened 3 years ago when the Xbox One edition came out and everyone "tried" to convert their 360 worlds? All the shear walls, etc.? This flap isn't half the flap that that "conversion fiasco" caused. You can "expect" conversions to "work properly" all you want, but the reality has always been disappointment and has never worked right.

True. I still have a few areas with the sheared landscape but I've worked with it. I could live with that, if this was all it was. But the conversion issues this time are much more extreme, from not being able to convert at all, to builds being destroyed or covered by terrain. A sheared edge of the world is annoying, but at least everything you built was there.
I honestly can say that I haven’t had many issues playing on my xbox (bedrock edition) I’ve been playing on my realm since they launched it and have had very few bugs.
I've seen some brief lockups that I believe are related to playing in split-screen, but no issues like these mentioned in this thread. I haven't tried to import any worlds and don't plan on it. I don't have the effort or investment in any previous worlds that would motivate me to import them.
I keep trying to convert my worlds as each patch arrives, but still haven't gotten any further then around 20% each time. Its was frustrating considering that the beta version did at least convert some worlds, albeit not perfectly, and now it won't convert any of them, at least I have found a few games to tie me over till it works, if it ever does, if not well I'm done with Minecraft.
Oh boy, where to start.........

I think probably your best bet though is to use the bug tracker to report bugs.
