I've been looking for info about the Nether in the BT update and whilst there isn't much info, I'm assuming the nether is 'infinite'? It certainly appears so, as I've started mapping it and its covering two large maps so far.
I believe you're correct, the Nether is 'infinite' in Bedrock edition. I'd think it has to be, otherwise there would need to be rules preventing the placement of a Nether portal out in the "infinite" area of the overworld (beyond the console edition 5x5 map area). That or placing such a portal would just result in you being placed on the very edge of a non-infinite Nether map.
