I am trying to create an addon that adds roosters to the chicken. So I modified the geometry model of a chicken to have an rooster-like tail and I also changed the texture map to match to that model. I did all this via twinker.
But if I import this addon, unfortunately, all my chickens are now roosters! I think, the way twinker generates teh addon, it replaces the vanilla chickens with my roosters.
So I wonder how to add the new geometry and corresponding texture to the existing chickens or replace them completely with my addon where new (unchanged) chickens and the roosters are included. In addition it would be fine if minecraft randomizes if a chicken or a rooster is spawnen or breeded, like the different horses.

check out the behavior json for villagers and other mobs with baby variants. youl.have to manually insert the rooster as a spawn variant of the chicken. looking at how sheep pass on their wool color might also help.

I'm not sure if there is a way to do that yet, but you could make the rooster a seperate mob, and make him breedable with the chicken to get a...
