Short answer, no... you can't step backwards one update. You can delete the current update, but that takes you back to the very first one (if you downloaded the game) or TU9 (if you're on disk). Also, once you've opened your world in a more recent update, opening it in an earlier update will corrupt the file... so, you would have to create TU1 or TU9 worlds, respectively. This is why I decided to decline the update and wait to see what people wrote about it on the forums... and now I've decided to wait for the bug fix... which willl hopefully be coming soon.
Damn so there's nothing I can do? I really wish I hadn't updated. The game was really good before the update but now all the glitches and things not working right like the Redstone make me not even want to play.

I feel your pain. Hopefully, the bug fix won't take too long... In the past, they did manage to rush one other bug fix in, I think, about 10 days when they had game breaking bugs... but I'm not really optimistic since rushing this one would mean they'd be working their staff hard over Christmas to get it done.
You know really one if all the glitches bug you that much why play in the first place they always have them. I admit some of these are bigger than other glitches but my point still remains. Two everyone complains that they want the newest update now right now and pressure 4J to give them more. Then you all decide to sit there and complain that there are problems to this update and always threaten that you just may never play again. We all know you're lying about never playing again. If your life seriously consists of just this game you need to shut off the xbox shut off all electronics and have a nice long discussion with yourself on how you got here. It's a game and they are trying to please everyone but when you demand everything new right now you have to expect problems with it. If you expect it to come out amazing and perfect no problems whatsoever then you have impossible expectations. If you don't want to play anymore, cause of a few bugs that are more nuisance than anything else, then please by all means get off.
I didn't say I'd never play again. Just saying I'd rather wait and play something else until some of these things get fixed. A lot of these problems weren't there until the new update. It just sucks is all. The update added lots of cool new things. So I do like the update. I just wanted to go back before the update and play like how it was until they get some of these things fixed.

Still, it would be nice if the Xbox did have a way to step back a single update wouldn't it? They have trial packs so people can test the waters on those before they buy, but once a person accepts an update, they are absolutely stuck with it whether they like the changes made or not. For now, I've resolve this issue by not accepting updates right away and reading here to see what the issues are before I do accept them... but it would be nicer if I could just try the update out and then decide for myself whether or not I want to just live with the bugs for awhile or backtrack one update and do without the new stuff for awhile as 4J fixes the bugs. A major difference in satisfaction level is that people on the PC can backtrack a single update, but on the Xbox 360, you can't. I think that If 4J wants to persist in releasing updates that contain known bugs from the PC (i.e without bringing forward the fixes the PC had for those bugs), then at least they should consider developing a way for people to be able to back off from an update if they find out they don't like it.

I wish I had thought of checking here first before updating, at least now I know for the next time.

Yeah, it's something I learned to do the hard way over the past two years of them releasing these updates without fixing at least the bug issues they already had on the PC.
I'm a patient person and I can accept that new bugs will crop up with any update... but I'll never really understand why the console-playing Minecraft public have to be drug through all the old bugs the PC experienced as well. It's a poor updating policy at the heart of this... and, no doubt, they're losing customers because of it. I understand that they wanted to give the people a bunch of new stuff to play with over the winter break from school... but this sort of known bug-filled release at this time really just ruins the fun for a lot of kids. I'm sure a lot of them would back off this update now until after Christmas if they could.
I have Minecraft on my Vita, haven't updated it on there, I can play on there until they fix Xbox more. But maybe it's good to take a break for awhile too, will just appreciate it more once I play on Xbox after they fix this stuff.
Actually you really can if you have a flash drive. Save the previous update onto it take it out of your Xbox and accept the new update. Test it out if you don't like it delete it and just plug the flash drive back in and don't accept the new one again until it is fixed. I admit it would be cool if they let us backtrack one update without having to do the method i just described but sadly they will not.

Yeah, it would be a good idea if people generally thought about it before accepting an update. I'm still not going to bother with this one until after a bug fix though... I'll wait until they at least get the horses to stay around.
True not many people do think about it before updating they just update then think. Point still remains though and really it's your preference and your game. I was just merely trying to provide you with a way to see the new items and everything.

Thanks. I will get to see them eventually... after the bug fix comes out... and I will probably try to remember to use your idea then, too.
It's a good idea. It doesn't help the OP of this thread and wouldn't eliminate the need/desire for an option to "undo" an update... but it's a good idea nonetheless.
