On the picture reveal the Minecart with TNT and Activator Rails, I saw what seem to be a locked repeater and a comparator. I'm not 100% sure, but it seems to be so. You can find the photo on the Planned Features page @ minecraft.gamepedia.net a.k.a The Minecraft Wiki. Check note twelve. You can see in far back.
On the redstone note, I see redstone dust connecting a chest and lamp. That might mean......
A new chest in your friends house.
Can you please verify my sightings.

EDIT: I have seen all of these in video now, so it's confirmed.
I was thinking on item sorter... or something Etho used in one of the designs he put to use. Also I really want to see if I can make at least something similar to what Docm77's sorter does. That is a lot of block types to sort. Massive storage. Something I at the moment only do manually being such a packrat.
I am no genius that is for sure, but I can follow quite a few of the basics. Bought the only thing I actually did on my own was a simple door, well without reference of some kind. That and a piston mob dropper.
I can think of a lot of ideas of what to do, like clean up my original railway that I made so that it actually more compact and still function properly.:)
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I'm looking forward to daylight sensors the most. I'd really like to automate the lighting in my house. I'd need to renovate a lot of the building, but that's okay. I'm sorely tempted to make an automated farm, but I'd like to think of some other things I can do.
For me, the new redstone stuff will be nice for mini-games
(Droppers will never 'do' anything with an item, it will ONLY drop the item, that's what makes them different from dispensers that soot arrows, pour/collect water/lava source, etc.)
...but it has been suggested in various threads to change the dispenser functionality to include planting and bone meal... including myself who made that suggestion:
Actually a dropper can put an item into another block that has an inventory, such as a chest, furnace, ect.
And its quite easy to make a good daylight sensor now that pretty accurate, it may take 5 to 20 seconds after the sun goes down/up to trigger but they work quite well. The only downside to them is that they must be kept away from light sources such as torches and glowstone, which is why I generally place them in the middle of a river or in the shallow depths of a lake, just outside of where torch light can affect them. It currently provides a redstone signal if its day, and no signal for night, which can easily be inverted for the opposite if needed.

That's good to know about the dropper... although, I thought you had to use a hopper to accomplish that... Regardless, players still can't use either the dropper nor the dispenser as a seeder/planter... which, I have to admit, would be a nice feature to have.

Nope, droppers can place items into another if they contain an inventory, this is how many do small item elevators. In respects to seeding/planting...True that, but I think it will come eventually, as you already mentioned its been discussed and requested for quite some time now.

The video is on Ecko Soldiers youtube channel.
I'm Canadian, and there is no igloos around. Or snow. Or polar bears. Or moose because I live in a city, but there are moose in the country.
It seems to be so,
and droppers,too.

No, dispensers/droppers will not 'plant' items (seeds, saplings, sugar cane, mushrooms, carrots, and potatos):

I was referring to the ones we can build now, ie bud triggered ones.
