As you can see from the title, I'm having trouble with texture packs in Minecraft Windows 10 Edition. Most of the texture packs which I downloaded doesn't have this "Pointer" texture which makes navigating chests, enchanting, using anvil and other in-game GUI's harder. If you're unsure what this "Pointer" I'm talking about, I will have a picture somewhere in this thread.
Anyways, back to the problem, I think it's because most of the texture packs I downloaded are designed for MCPE(Pocket Edition) which doesn't have the "Pointer" because they use touch navigation instead of mouse and keyboard therefore I would like to know if anyone can go inside the vanilla texture pack for Minecraft Windows 10 Edition (since I don't know how to do that myself) and provide a screenshot of where the texture located and where it should be imported and I will try my best to import the "Pointer" texture inside of the texture packs I downloaded.
Before I begin, I am going to assume that you are using multiple packs at once. This is fine.
The pointer texture is located in the icons.png file located here in the pack: /textures/GUI/icons.png
You should normally see the pointer underneath the XP bars (see attached image), but in ported texture packs (such as ones you are using) they may be missing.
To correct this, you will need to add the pointer to your top layered resource pack (the first pack you see on top when you apply the textures). You can do this by replacing the icons.png file with the one attached, or draw it in the icons.png file yourself.
This is not based upon whether or not the pack was made for MCPE, because generally it will work fine on WIN10. It is really based on whether the porter of the pack likes the pointer, or is just too lazy to fix it. Personally, I absolutely hate the pointer, which is why I don't include it in any of my packs.
Thanks for the solution, I really find this helpful. Would it be OK if you can include the pointer texture in this icons.png from a texture pack I downloaded; I will provide a save-able image which you then could edit or you can give me a save-able image of your attachment which I could edit myself. either way is fine.
