figured id post this here, get some suggestions on where to go with it,
Basicly, i decided to start a new map with 0.6 & in doing so, had to have my mining pit, during its construction, i went alil overboard on its construction.
but now, its a massive wip, & i got ahead of myself xD, this is all the result of 2 days work (TY PIE), any comments/suggestions are appreciated.

Started completely teraforming the ground around it, started a lower plain for a small village.
& this would be the outer entrance to my actual arena:
basic looking structure built into the side of a large cliff (under fort)
The inside of the temple structure:
gives the typical warning, marks the beginning of the treck down.
Before you start going down, you will encounter this great hall:
This hall marks the start of the grand staircase, & seperates it from the temple.
As you go down, you will see multiple stairwells like this:
To keep it running systematicly & not feel cramped.
These are variations of above:
Marking specific levels or serving special purposes for me. There are various "special" levels
Main flight of steps (after first 8 to get down):
Straight ahead is preperation chambers, entrances to pit are on left/right, dome is behind.
Preperation chambers (1of2):
2 prep chambers marked woth water/lava. Both layouts are identical. This is the front wall
Preperation chambers (2of2):
The rear wall, complete with 9 working chests, stocked with armor/weaponry/food/etc.
Entrance to dome (After main flight of steps):
To the right is one entrance to pit, one also exists to the left.
Cut away the top right corner to walk outside the dome (partly), to see how the lighting is done
first glimpse of the dome:
Just walking in from entrance.
Cut from quartz, one might say its a little to big.
View of the dome from bleachers:
The shading is done for asthetic feel only, entire dome is mob-proof besides pit
(Watch out for spiders)
This is the actual pit:
the pit is large enough to set off the reactor & not cause damage
Or spawn 30+ pigmen & not be crowded
There are 4 side rooms, 2 are entrances, 2 are large enough for multiple spawns
Cant forget the sewers.
not quite complete. gona go further, branch into mines/etc. But keeping the dark look

entire stairwell/temple/dome is 100% mob-proof, (besides pits spawn-chambers (watch out for spiders :P)
