I've tried searching some and see a variety of answers, so looking for a little clarification on my specific circumstances.
I have three kids that love to playing minecraft. The younger two play on tablets (Minecraft PE), and the older plays on his laptop. The younger two fight a log on whose world to play on, and the older wants to play but struggles sometimes to get joined in. I've gotten Minecraft Windows 10 installed on his PC, so as I understand he should be able to join a PE world (or may be the other way around, haven't worked that out yet). What I would like to try and do is setup a world that just the three of them (and myself) can play on, so they can build stuff and not worry about who started what world, and so on. I've looked at the Realms, my only concern there is they sometimes ebb and flow on their interest, and I don't want to be paying monthly for a server if they aren't playing much that month, and I don't want to cancel it and have them lose everything they did when they start getting into it again.
Is there an easy way for me to setup my own Minecraft PE server on my PC, that all of them can log into and play on? If so, can anyone point me to a good resource, what I've been finding has been somewhat hit-or-miss, or just not very clear.
