Cool, new forums section! Must post because logic.
I've recently started a spreadsheet that documents item IDs and usage for mods. I've noticed that mods often use the same IDs. Since MCPE only has support for 256 items and 256 blocks, it's pretty certain that we'll have conflicts.
So anybody have any ideas?
I'm thinking of ideas to mitigate this:
- Allow users to set textures based on the damage value - that allows you to use only one ID for 16 blocks, and only one id for 32767 items.
- Even better, for items, have one shared item ID, and everyone adds to that ID for textures - that way, we'll have 32767 items.
Actually that will be cool I hated the limits for custom items! If you add this into block launcher I'll be so happy!

Instead of registering IDs like
you'll register as
And your custom item would be defined as a custom damage value on an existing item, say, ID 511.
And your code would handle it as
This is how SpoutCraft handles custom items.
