A tip about the Drether mod: when the game creates a new furnace it's creating a new array that is active in-code. When you have, say, 50000 furnaces in a map (more or less) the game has to add all the information to the cache to support all the furnaces in real time. This causes a LOT of cpu usage and EVEN MORE initial lag. After all the chunks have generated this lag goes away, but it's still responsible for crashing with seeds that require even more generation of furnaces. This little amount of extra information collects into a HUGE difference in map size (memory wise). I HIGHLY suggest you choose a material other than furnaces to generate in the Drether

I was thinking that, but they still run smoothly after you unpatch the mod. I might consider changing it though.

I agree with greyzap. while the furnaces are REALLY awesome, if you exchanged them for, say, for something else that caused less lag, it would be great. another thing, can you change the sand into something? it removes the mysterious eeree feel you get when playing... the gravel is ok though.
Also, i just recorded my drether mod review, unsure over if it is the version that i want to post on utube.

Yeah, but the Drether doesn't lag when you unpatch it after playing for the first time. I'll change it soon though, I have to go to work :/
life sucks like that, doesnt it?
anyways, right here, i compiled a list of the item id's of all the blocks for my "alternate" drether, cuz i know the scripting involves changing the id in the world spawning code. idk if you have to use the id or binary, but here are the actual ids (pc, but im pretty sure for pe, too.).
ice: 79 snow: 80 diamond block: 57 steel block: 42 Wool: 35

Thanks for your help, we use the id's for the block replacing the offset, and sometimes use them to be replaced by the offset. It depends on how and what you are doing really.
Here is what the Drether Dimension Mod looks like at the moment
Physical actions involving forceful use of dense, blunt appendages with the intention of causing bodily harm to peers within the international online social-sphere are not acceptable in any one and/or multiple fathomable formats!

Therefore, making the Drether Dimension turn into this.
I will work on changing the sand next, but I am unsure what to yet.
In a prev post I sed that the trees should be snow trunks, leaves be ice, sand be iron dirt be diamond, stone be snow, and all flowers be mushrooms, and gravel be... Well you get the idea. Scroll up to see the idea.
And micropie copied my snow world idea....
Blargh. Anyways, the drether vid will be out today.

Say if I were to 're-do' the Drether Dimension mod by replacing the furnaces (3d) with Iron blocks (2a), it would now look something like this:

I'll probably do it
Yes, more mods are on the way

*punch*
Inconceivable! incomprehensible! Unfathomable!
