Can you pm me on the situation I would like to help but using this forum is a bit cumbersome. I also only know client side programming, but I do know a lot on how the severs work and can learn to program as the sever-side.
We aren't going to port this to Android or iOS. If you want to run servers from your device, use MCPE, not this program. Just a note, there is no difference between "Android servers" and "iOS servers," they both use Raknet so they both work with each other. Last, we won't accept people who ask to help, we only ask others to help, so don't ask. It's not that we don't trust others, it's just we don't want this project to be a let down.

I have never been able to join any online server even though I have done everything right using every methed available, I hope it is because they are always full or down. What is the maximum number of people you can have on this server

As many as you want or as many as your computer can handle.

i dont understand why mojang cant get of its high horse and ask for some help from you guys, with both of you working together i bet online multiplayer would be working in under a week,
on the other hand if they already have developers who would already know how to do this, its sucks that they dont implement it...
Anyways really looking forward to seeing where this goes

True I guess, I just hope that the developers are listening to what the PEOPLE want instead of what they want.
The best part about MCPEServer will be its modding API. Since the server can handle which blocks are placed or removed, where the players move, when they jump, which entities spawn where and when and even more small parts, server mods would be able to modify the packets the server sends in order to create mods such as WorldEdit, world protection against griefers, different types of game modes, teleportation, giving x amount of y item to player z, etc. Server mods will be able to do much more then regular client mods, and for those of you that know Java, don't worry, it will be compliant with any mods you decide to make and include an API.
So basically, as you're playing, your device is sending packets to the server. The server then modifies those packets and returns them to your device to show the modified gameplay? If it's like this, wouldn't updates such as block placement/destruction and player movement lag a bit?
Also, since the computer is running the server, will we be able to add mods like Tale Of Kingdoms and Mo' Creatures? I only ask cuz you mentioned Java in there and I didn't exactly know what you meant.
Sorry if I sound a bit stupid as I'm not in any way knowledgeable in server side stuff

It might lag, but most likely not, since servers don't normally lag when people place blocks anyway. What happens is the server can send multiple place block packets to create a building or what ever else and the client will accept those packets so the building would show up in their world, even if no one actually built it.
More creatures wouldn't be possible at all, the server can't create any new features, it can only utilize what the game already has programmed.
Just an update:
Worlds are playable. If you do anything in the server (such as place a block), the server disconnects you. We still have a far way to go.
So.. Your droppin git?*dropping it...
multiplayer so... Good luck? Yeah good luck!
(Whispers "I'm not actually dead, I'm just in hiding and watching you all...)

Multiplayer isn't exactly at their highest interest at the moment, if they wanted they could also finish it in a week.
