I used a ModPE script of several thousand lines that I wrote myself. The whole city is on a grid system, each 71 x 82 blocks, fixed with respect to the world's coordinate system. Also, it isn't a flat world. I had to eliminate a lot of nature to build it!

That's cool and like for the buildings? Or is it like the same?
I only started playing Minecraft in November! So, since a few weeks after then. That includes taking time out to build the 200k railroad project. Which city is the biggest BTW, and how are you measuring it?
That is still pretty impressive that you managed to build a large city despite the fact that you duplicated some buildings and replicated floors of buildings.
Measurements?
So, based on my calculations:
3.9 Sq. Mi. = ~9,300,000
Current Largest City Titleholder = 10,000,000~ (Winner by 700,000 Blocks)
I don't use any applications to measure. Only data and making a guess with some data gathered from the author. If I can use PocketInveditor again, I can measure the city, unless if it crashes. Getting measurements of Cities over 500,000 Blocks is already hard because it crashes and you need to navigate! How much more a city of over 8,000,000 blocks?
This is a very sexy map indeed. The downtown area is truly something to behold. I figured its dimensions at about 1100 x 1500. (One of my scripts is a teleport function, that lets me jump 1000 blocks at a time, so it's also a useful ruler.)
Just finished viewing it and I'm not going to lie, note this is just my opinion, it is huge but the building design is very basic/plain and repetitive, and you can easily see the copy and paste in the city! But it is big. Overall it is a good map but that takes alot of space! Good job!
Thanks guys. This time around, I was aiming more for a cool skyline than anything. Hence why I didn't make interiors.
I was trying to take a holistic view of the city. Most of Chicago isn't its downtown, but vast swaths of inner city areas, and then suburbs. I was trying to reflect that mix too.
Coming soon: a huge, modern city in Pocket Edition. Inspired by the real Chicago, it has:
135 skyscrapers
542 lofts/low office buildings
1509 ghetto/public housing structures
8561 suburban houses.
240 km of roads
Total: 10747 buildings. Plus parks, schools, and churches.
Area: 2301 acres (3.59 square miles)
The file size is ~600MB! I have some small items to clean up, and then I will make it available for download.
