FINALLY!
I d/l this map a few weeks ago and it was a most excellent and challenging map. Last week I started looking for it to make some comments and could not find it again. So glad you reposted it.
Is this an update - it's the same exact file size-? If so, what may be different?
I have completed most of the challenges except rebuilding the base. Instead I upgraded the provided one. -slightly-
NOTES:
- I'll try to say this without spoiling it - I 'found the fire...' but <dammit!> lost the woohoo!
- Is there something about growing trees below water b/c I really had to work HARD to get a tree farm started. But, if only there were Jungle trees, I would have 4 species growing now.
- Oh, I lost the pigs . One drowned himself in a watering trough before I could get him out. The other one messed with me so much after that, that I had him as my first meat. The other animals are multiplying well.
- Also lost the beetroots. I think I dint have the farm setup properly before trying to grow them. But all other crops are now flourishing.
- The mob farm just came naturally from carving the water and I have a blast watching them every morning!!! I'm trying to get a decent video of this b/c I think it's hilarious!
- Oh, and I still have not used the bonus ores. Won't need them now.
- Have a well lit, organized mining operation set up. Managed to find a few diamonds down there, so...
- I don't know how to get screenshots on Android except by using a camera.
Now that personal survival is ensured, I guess it's time to start actually building the city.
As for suggestions - maybe a couple more surprises? I 'found the fire' more or less by accident but now wish I was better prepared first. The other things were not really helpful but that's just the way I ended up playing it. Maybe some partially finished/destroyed structures could provide sparks for the imagination. Either to build upon or add to a storyline.
How about a cave that opens in the side of a mountain. Where the water did not fill it in completely.
Or some random 'junk' that fell from the sky and sank to the bottom. Perhaps half-buried in shifting sands. (maybe a satellite from the 'old world')
It was tough to run with the ocean bottom story with the trees there, so I imagined it was a post apocalyptic flood scenario, instead. That makes it more amenable to adding other 'things' as well. Also, then the 'build a city' goal would be even more important. Provide a chest with villager eggs (when they are available in game) to populate the city and assure survival of the Craftian species.
All in all, I really enjoyed this map and still do. It can be fun even after the challenges are met.
Especially now that I know the original mission was to build a city. Now that I know that - I have work to do !!!

Thanks for the reply! I am still working on the update... so far i added a shipwrecked ship and it looks ppretty cool. I know the trees are a little... annoying since it is an ocean. I might add sponges as well to make it look like an actual ocean. Yes, this map can get boring, but it is only the first version ;). I will make it more challenging and maybe add a better storyline to it!

Hey CH!
Don't get me wrong - this map was never boring. Perhaps a bit monotonous at times - carving through all that water is repetitive, but a wrong move could ruin a lot of work. (and it did - again and again...) But it was NOT boring!
My suggestions were just that. You asked for ideas and those are things I thought of while playing. The trees may be out of place but are probably necessary for good gameplay.
I would have to agree with Tezz - for a whole world, restriction free survival map, this has to be one of the most challenging or the TOP most challenge - AND an absolute blast. I've opened this world just to go in and tease the mobs into mass suicide!!! I LOVE IT.
Thanks for a great map and I can't wait for the update.
