I've converted a village into an Iron Farm, but along the way I accidentally killed 2 villagers (and deliberately killed an iron golem). Everything is set up, but the villagers don't appear to be breeding. Is it because they're unhappy with me? Is that a thing in MCPE? All the articles I can find talk about unhappiness and trading and food in PC edition, but nothing appears to be directly relevant to MCPE.
Assuming that they are unhappy and therefore unwilling to breed, is there any way I can fix it? I can't trade with them. Can I give them food? Can I destroy all the doors and delete the village, then put them back in and start a new village? Does anyone know if any of these might work, or is the whole project trashed because of my mistake?
I have found that if I make bread, and give them things they want, like seeds, wheat, potatoes and beets, they seem more willing to breed. I just start dropping the above items at the villagers, as much as I can. Seems to calm them down and sometimes breed.
I actually haven't tried giving the villagers anything. I'm stuck in the mindset from when they first came to MCPE that doing so didn't do any good. With all the updates since then, it's possible that might help now. I'll give that a try and see if it does anything.
The number of doors definitely isn't the issue in this case. I've got 8 villagers and 64 doors, using what I think of as the standard iron farm design. If feeding the villagers doesn't help though, I'll post a picture or two of the place - maybe something about the way it's designed is breaking the 'house' calculation, so that they think there aren't any houses.
