People get easily confused, mostly, don’t understand that Minecraft is a “New” 3DS exclusive. As the forum doesn’t include “new” In any of the headlines it’s made.
But people still refuse to get over the games exclusivity. And today. I will explain how I emulated the game with the specs of the old 3ds and how it performed.
First off. The game runs about 25-30fps with the New 3DS hardware. It has a quad-core 804mhz cpu and 256mb of ram.
The old 3ds has a dual-cpu clocked at 268mhz and 128mb of ram.
simce I have a modded new 3ds with CFW installed, I have the ability to raise and lower the clock speed to the old 3ds, and even restrict the ram to the old amount. After setting the cpu to 268mhz and 128mb of ram I saw the game getting only about 10fps at its highest. With the lowest being 5fps. With people wondering if it could run on the old 3ds, it seems out of the question. I even have an FPS tracker to track performance.
The game simply won’t run on old 3ds period. Unfortunately. I can’t post photos since I’m on mobile.

I believe.. Only just over 12 Million "New" 3DS XLs have been sold as of end 2016.
And that was a rough holiday season for Nintendo's New XL because they were not easy to find.
What the sales of the New model are as of now? Not sure but its certainly not the remaining amount that adds up to the told 3DS models combined
sold...
So Minecraft on New 3DS, has a rather small audience, probably around the same as the number of WiiU units sold?
