Personal Mods:
First and foremost, I would like to say that this mod is based on a suggestion by Regular hexahedron. The post is here: http://www.minecraft...-carpet-blocks/ All credit goes to him for the idea for the mod, and without him the mod would not exist.
Info:
Turf Blocks are grass carpet blocks. They can be placed on any block, won’t spread, and can’t be eaten by sheep. Basically, they look like grass, but without the properties of grass such as spreading, so you can finally have dirt paths with grass on either side! They come in different, biome coloured grass matched varieties. These will stay that color when placed, no matter which biome they are placed in. So you can have a lovely bright green lawn in the nether, if you like! To obtain turf, you need to break a grass block (or mycelium/podzol) with a 'Turf Knife'. Depending on the biome you are in, you will obtain the relevant turf (mycelium/podzol is biome independent). Crafting a piece of turf with a dirt block will produce a (vanilla) grass block.
The mod also includes a grass carpet which is biome-colored, the "Grass Cover". To obtain, simply put three grass blocks into the crafting table in a horizontal line.
In addition, I have my very own brand of leaf carpet, "Leaf Covering"! It comes in both opaque and transparent varieties. It can be fallen through, and so is useful for traps, when placed on top of signs. Crafting the transparent variety is as simple as putting two leaf blocks next to each other. To make it opaque, add a piece of sand above it in a crafting bench (this is probably temporary).
DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible for any damages caused to body/mind by inappropriate use of leaf covering.

Abandonment:
If the time should come that I abandon any of these mods, then you have full permission to reverse engineer it and provide it's functions as another mod, or update the original.
My definition of abandon means that ALL of the following have occurred.
1) I am a FULL version number behind on Minecraft compatibility. So if the last version I release for is 1.6.4 then you can start thinking about adopting the mod when Minecraft releases version 1.8.
2) I haven't posted in this thread in AT LEAST two months. If BOTH of those occur, you have my full permission to create an updated version, provided that if I then return, I may work with you to help you with the mod!
That is awesome! Thank you! I didn't consider how difficult it might be to code shears harvesting turf. I think the solution you came up with is pretty elegant. I'll add this to the suggestion thread.
Does creating swamp grass consume the bucket or just the water?
Thanks everybody! As with any bucket recipe, it also gives you an empty bucket back. I also want to work on making the grass automatically compatible with texture packs, so it uses the texturepacks grass texture, but that could be difficult!
Thanks for the comments everyone! Hmm, I like the idea of leaf coverings/turfs, may consider implementing that. But, I would just make those craftable with leaves. I think podzol turf would be cool. Update shall come on Forge 1.7 release!
Ask me not to stop, and I shall obey! New mod released: NQOD - a little jar modification to remove the back to title screen button from the respawn screen.
EDIT: Also, anybody know why the mainpost keeps breaking, where I have pressed enter for a new line, this becomes unrecognized?

PS. Its warlordjones' not warlordjone's
Whoops! Fixed it.
Awesome! The mycelium looks pretty good actually. I could see it being an interesting lawn for a haunted castle or something like that.
Maybe it should also get its own turf?
Maybe not - however when you shear podzol it might give you leaves - and from the leaves you can make leaf turfs?
Update: Added a new mod, FusedQuartz, from an idea by brittommy. Perhaps one day I will finish one of my original mods!
EDIT: Update 2 - added small mod which makes creepers only explode if a player hits them.
Awesome! Leaf coverings are a great addition.
Please do keep making mods! Your stuff is amazing.
