I made a Minecraft world a few months ago and I kept cheating by starting a new LAN world with cheats on. I feel really guilty and i don't know if I should make a new world or just try to stop cheating. I already have a lot of good things and I would have to get them all over again if i started a new world. I have mending on everything.
I do the same thing in my single player world. My rule for the game is if something happens that makes the game no longer fun for me (like losing full diamond in lava) I can use a cheat to fix it. Basically as long as you're having fun and in your own single player world cheats are fine.

It's tempting, but I just resist the urge by saving and quitting, or loading up a last save. If it helps you, copy your world file to a safe location before each time you log on, and if something bad happens during your playsession, you can always replace your failed world with the copy.
