Hello. So many of you probably know the mc YouTuber Rambo. On the dream SMP he is somehow able to break blocks (like leaves and mob spawners) with his bare hands, and pick them up. I already tried putting silk touch on armor, like many people say, and it doesn’t work. Does anyone know how he does this?
Silk Touch is for tools, not armor, which is why you can't place it on armor unless you use Creative or commands (it would actually work, but only on any block that drops something when mined by hand; leaves will drop themselves but even if spawners dropped something you'd still need a pickaxe).
So the "any block that drops something when mined by hand" is no longer valid, since glass blocks don't but tall grass and dried bushes do.
I was referring to blocks that do not require a tool, which includes glass, for which Silk Touch has always worked regardless of the item it is placed on, but blocks like stone will never drop anything unless you use the proper tool.
So tall grass and dried bushes are special cases that require the proper tool (shears) to drop as blocks but not to drop seeds and sticks.
Leaf blocks are special, since they can be harvested as blocks with either Silk Touch (on anything) or shears.
Cobwebs need proper tools but there are two to chose between, they need either shears or Silk Touch on a sword to drop as blocks. (And only drop string when using a sword (without Silk Touch).)

They must be using mods or plugins, you can't mine mob spawners in vanilla, if you break them they just disappear.

You might be able to do something with command blocks that detect the breaking and add the broken items to your inventory.
(Or on the ground, so they show up in a video.)
Just testing.

Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
Silk Touch armor works, sorta, in 1.16.5 but only when held, not when worn.
It works on glass blocks, leaves and grass blocks but not on tall grass, spider webs or dried bushes, those require shears.
