What they are referring to is this bug, which Mojang has bizarrely not properly fixed yet (there is some kludgy code to fix fall damage but for some reason they made it only work on a dedicated server with PvP enabled; void damage is otherwise exempt in all cases) despite being known for much of a decade with an exceedingly simple fix:
All that needs to be done is to change a single numerical value in the code or remove/disable the code that uses it (or make it only apply when a player first spawns or respawns after death), which has no practical use that I know of outside of giving you a chance to escape a spawn death loop (sorry, I can't make a mod for modern versions. The code shown here is from 1.6.4, released over 7 years ago, so in all that time they still haven't properly fixed even the fall damage part):
public class EntityPlayerMP extends EntityPlayer implements ICrafting
{
// Change this to 0
private int initialInvulnerability = 60;
public boolean attackEntityFrom(DamageSource par1DamageSource, float par2)
{
// Or remove the following lines
boolean var3 = this.mcServer.isDedicatedServer() && this.mcServer.isPVPEnabled() && "fall".equals(par1DamageSource.damageType);
if (!var3 && this.initialInvulnerability > 0 && par1DamageSource != DamageSource.outOfWorld)
{
return false;
}
its not really that simple tho is it if you could choose between loosing a hardcore world and not losing it well its pretty obvious which one you'd choose

Well, you can always revert to a backup in the worst-case, so in the end it all comes down to self-control; maybe Hardcore isn't for you? I know that I'd never be able to play Hardcore legitimately as I'd revert to a backup if I ever died, and have even done so in non-Hardcore worlds (at least in this case you lose whatever progress you made since the backup. At the other extreme, there are those who don't even want to use backups/Creative/etc to get around bugs or glitches, for example, which defeats the main purpose of making backups).
I would like to remove this as i find myself using it in my hardcore world before right when im about to die
You can check this one:
https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/nodami
this doesn't remove damage immunity when joining a game tho

MC-212 Faulty fall damage when logging out and logging back in while falling
MC-21650 Player is immune to damage for a few seconds after saving the world and returning

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
how do you think i should resolve this then because hardcore is basically unplayable to me?
I don't know, maybe just don't use it? This is such a miniscule issue that you are causing for yourself
