I am playing in a online server in faction mode and I found a really impressive base. It is made by obsidian and on the top of the world rounded by water. Knowing that in this server after the 5th explosion obsidian breaks, and i cannot break any blocks near the base for 10 blocks, how can i remove water? And how can I raid
I would try dropping lava onto the water to create a solid block that you could then drop tnt onto, but that doesn't really work if they've already built it to the height limit. Maybe you could build a flying machine that would create a tunnel of cobblestone by dispensing lava above it or something and then send a bunch of missiles in.
I haven't ever played on a server like that before so I'm not sure if any of that's feasible but maybe something to consider.

I've never griefed a base before, nor played factions, but I think I may have a solution.
First, go up to the top of the base, and then place a tower until you're about... twenty-ish blocks above the water. Then, create a platform, and destroy the bridge leading to the platform. You should be about 3 blocks away from the top of the tower, and can place blocks on top of the tower. Next, get a lava bucket, and place it on the tower. (Do you get where I'm heading?) Basically, if you solidify the water into cobblestone with a lavacast, you can then blow it up with TNT. As for the TNT, you may need to create a creeper farm and farm gunpowder for days, before you have the materials required to do so. If the server allows TNT duping, then create a TNT duping flying machine that blows up the cobblestone, while moving back and forth.
Here's how to make a TNT duping flying machine:
Here's a video on how to make a lavacast (it's in Bedrock Edition, but should work just as well on Java):
If the base is already built on top of the world, then take sponges and create a chamber at the top of the base, near the height limit, and then you can periodically dry out the layer so that you have some space to build, then create the lavacast.

I love making farms.
