It is a 3 tall, 2 wide 2 netherrack clearing. There is blue ice on one side so you can ride in a boat faster than elytra flight. The blue ice is replaced by a non-ice block whenever there is a nether portal to stop by, so that you don't fly past your destination.
Not much to see in mine aince I reset the nether near a month ago, just a load of brisges across the sky everywhere.
I have a 10 year old java single-player survival world and have been happily playing in 1.14.2 and was in to rush to upgrade to 1.15/1.16+, however a month ago I took the plunge to update the world like I always have done. To continue the challenges of a world this old, I reset the nether but as I say - so far it's just a lot of sky-bridges everywhere, especially linking to older overworld portals. Over time I might "Pretty them up" but it'll take time again to get to what I had prior to 1.16+

I don't use the Nether for much, just to get some blaze rods (a couple dozen is enough for the lifetime of any world I've had and I could completely avoid it by trading for eyes of ender) and mining quartz for XP for enchanting my "caving gear", with the quartz I collect used to build my main base. I only build a simple shelter around the portal (the last time I made one it spawned inside a circular room cave so I didn't need to do this) which has a chest for various supplies and an enchantment setup, along with the usual bridges/tunnels and torches placed to show where I've been. Otherwise, I never return to the Nether once I'm done enchanting and even deleted it, along with the End, from most of my worlds after I archived them (I did keep them in TMCWv4, with this comparison to the Overworld, which has since been explored a lot more; the same can be said about the End, which I only visit for the dragon fight, even in 1.9/1.16 I wouldn't be inclined to do much exploring).
My Nether is mainly populated by a Nether rail system, which links various places of interest (Strongholds, Outposts, Blaze Farms etc) plus the 4 main bases in my world, 2 of which are only connected via the Nether currently. The area it covers is about 2000 x 2400 blocks, and the map view below (cut through at level 62 which my rail lines are built at) shows the locations as follows:
First main base in desert, with one of two main Nether rail stations constructed here (most of my other stop points are 3-bay minecart mini-stations I designed). Was built around the time of version 1.5, and was rebuilt internally later on with an updated redstone design and I removed some of the lines I’d never developed.
My most recent project a Nether Castle.
Second main base link to a Mesa biome.
Link to my only Woodland Mansion. I located this after I’d built most of the rail lines, was fortunate to just have to change the bend between 3 and 4 to a Tee junction (using one of my 3-way minecart junctions) and extending it North.
Second main Nether Minecart station servicing my third main base in an Ice Spikes biome.
4-way junction which links my 4th main base which is near to an Ocean Monument. Bases 3 and 4 are the only two connected via the Nether and the Overworld.

Two shots of my Nether Castle, currently work in progress.
Minecart Station 2 servicing the Ice Spikes base (Position 5 on the map). Also part of my ongoing project to half-slab the lava in this area. 😊
Typical 3-Way junction, 4-Way Junction and a typical minecart line tunnel. I only have 2x 4-Way in the nether currently, probably about 9-10 3-Way ones.
A couple of external views of the 4-way junction that links to the Ocean monument Base (Position 6 on the map).
Finally, one of my 3-way Minecart mini-stations. I’m phasing this out in future builds to use a Y shaped design with cactus breaking the arriving cart and piping it to the departures area. Much simpler.
I also don’t really go for aesthetics in the Nether on the minecart line parts. Most of it is just getting from one place to another, so apart from using blast resistant blocks, I tend to use the most common blocks here. And as I don’t like cobblestone aesthetically, that’s what I mainly use in the nether … apart from a large quantity or orange clay (which is very common in the mesa biome when you star terraforming) which I used on the line near the Mesa base.

The nether update gave us 2 different new wood types however, there's some aesthetics that got added with the Nether update which may make me use it even more than I used to. I don't like the Piglin mechanics, because as soon as your gold armour piece is destroyed, you open a chest in front of them or if you mine gold, they come after you which is a distraction when all you want to do in the Nether is mine quartz or other materials.
But when me and friends are finished with it, the Nether network will function similar to train stations, different stops in different sectors of the Nether and it would act as a fast travel through the overworld when using portals.
We built this tunnel on our server. It was painstaking to place each block. What does your nether look like?

Efficient? Yes. Good-Looking? No.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
